Spanning ambitious video installations, kinetic sculpture, and photography, This is not the storm marks the first Australian solo exhibition for German artist Julius von Bismarck.
With a practice characterised by research-driven experimentation across physics, technology, and the social sciences, von Bismarck probes our understanding of reality and questions our relationship with the environment; from transformed everyday objects to large-scale investigations in remote or extreme locations, through his play with the dual sensations of awe and terror, we reconsider the systems that have brought us here.
