Jemima Wyman: Deep Surface

Los Angeles-based Palawa artist Jemima Wyman is known for her vivid, kaleidoscopic hand-cut collages drawn from a personal archive of found photographs documenting global protests.

A politically and visually charged exploration of camouflage, collective organising, democracy, and dissent, this survey exhibition spans decades. Presented in partnership with QUT Art Museum, Queensland and UNSW Galleries, Sydney, on show is Wyman’s complex, maximalist environments that channel the distress, uncertainty, and upheaval of protest into a hypnotic and rhythmic harmony of patterned surfaces.
