Born in Mount Allen near Yuendumu on the eastern edge of the Northern Territory’s Tanami Desert, Maureen Hudson Nampijinpa has been painting since the late 1980s.
Testament to Nampijinpa’s artistic skill is her instinctive ability to achieve a three-dimensional texture through expert paint application, most noticeable in her depiction of the rolling sand hills of her country.
