Rhonda Ayliffe: Codex Infinitum – the infinite book

This exhibition includes ephemeral book works and installations, photographic media, and handmade books to explore ideas about the future of knowledge and the book in an increasingly digital world. Ayliffe’s background in traditional book crafts has imparted an intimate connection to the book and this relationship is played out in her dystopian/utopian works.

Ayliffe simultaneously laments and exalts the fate of the collected written word through a disconcerting juxtaposition of battered and charred volumes and meticulously hand bound artist’s books and digitally dependent volumes.
