Annie Aitken – Kaleidoscope

‘Kaleidoscope’ is the latest installment in Annie Aitken’s cycle of work using found plastic fruit nets and stripped thread from polypropylene sacks. Her new soft sculptures incorporate specifically sourced vintage materials, including skeins of brightly coloured poly-raffia and straw yarn. These elements have been stitched and woven into nylon net forms creating voluptuous, vibrant pieces that burst straight from the wall.
