Au: Arndt Art Agency

Coinciding with Melbourne’s Art Week and the new Melbourne Art Fair, Arndt Art Agency presents ‘Au’, a group show consisting of 15 leading contemporary artists from Europe, Asia and Australia, including: Khadim Ali (Australia), Daniel Boyd (Australia), Marina Cruz (Philippines), Mikala Dwyer (Australia), Hahan (Indonesia), Jeppe Hein (Denmark), Thomas Hirschhorn (Switzerland), Alicja Kwade (Germany), Danie Mellor (Australia), Julian Rosefeldt (Germany), Gareth Sansom (Australia), Nedko Solakov (Bulgaria), Rodel Tapaya (Philippines), Danh Vo (Vietnam) and Jorinde Voigt (Germany); displaying both existing and newly commissioned works.

Curated by Australian Director, Luisa Bosci, ‘Au’ focuses on the materiality of gold, while also exploring its layered associations – from its connections to ideas of currency, value systems, and wealth – whilst simultaneously evoking notions of alchemy, divinity and avarice.

‘Au’ is the first part of an exchange with Arndt Art Agency Berlin and Melbourne’s STATION gallery. The latter presenting a curated exhibition of gallery artists at the German gallery on Fasanenstraße 28 – one of the oldest art precincts in Berlin – during the internationally celebrated Gallery Weekend Berlin in May 2019.
