Boonkaj – emerging: art from the Kimberley

The ‘Boonkaj’ exhibition, curated by Sandra Murray, presents a new generation of emerging artists of different ages and language groups from two Aboriginal owned art centres based in the Kimberley, Waringarri and Kira Kiro.

Fifteen artists working across a range of contemporary and traditional mediums share their unique stories of Country and culture in paintings, barks, ceramics, engraved boab nuts, textiles, and a short stop animation project. ‘Boonkaj’ is accompanied by a public program and artworks are available for purchase.
