David Frazer: Drift

David Frazer’s art, through his finely detailed woodcuts, linocuts, lithographs and etchings, explores the themes of truth, despair and often the emotional and fragile state of the human condition. ‘Drift’ is a continuation of these themes and includes, in David’s own words, ” …loser confused blokes hanging around not quite knowing what to do. Add in other concerns about life – climate change, lack of water, lack of purpose, etc, etc.”

Although Frazer’s works are intrinsically Australian, the story is universal, drawing tensions between survival and hope, vitality and emptiness in images that are both poignant and mildly unsettling, yet entirely captivating.
