The plush veneer of the layered silk tassels of Troy Emery’s faceless mutts generates a sense of curiosity and intrigue; the viewer patiently observes each hanging thread in wait for an invitation to explore. Here, in this part exhibition, part artist residency, part performance, artists Sami Bayly, Gilliam Benke, Nicole Bolton, Jen Denzin, Jake Henzler and Jordan Lucky go behind the fringed curtains of Emery’s animal sculptures and, with an affinity for craft materials, illustration, wild colour, and creatures, respond to his lusciously textured, hirsute canine piece titled Park Creature.
