Drawn 2 Detail

Drawing is one of the oldest forms of human expression. Many scholars believe that drawing was used as a specialised form of communication before the advent of the written language, as we see from cave and rock drawings created over 30,000 years ago.

Drawing is often exploratory with emphasis on problem solving, composition and observation. The artist still communicates through drawing and printmaking, and these forms of expression within the visual arts still hold their essential place in the artist’s tool bag.
