For the first time, the works of Rosa Fiveash and Ellis Rowan are coming together for an exhibition exploring South Australia’s rich botanical collections.
Having resided in North Adelaide, Fiveash was known for capturing the wild orchid in exquisite detail, while Rowan was a traveller with an international profile, known for her wildflowers – she had Adelaide’s wildflowers in her sights between 1906 and 1907. Showcasing over 180 works, Fiveash’s botanical paintings appear here alongside Rowan’s large 1906 and 1907 watercolours, capturing some of Australia’s favourite and endangered native flora.
