Curated by dré fuzz, Youth explores age as a phenomenon, and the issue of ageism in the arts. This thought-provoking group exhibition challenges viewers to reconsider their assumptions about aging, redirecting interpretation, analysis, or judgement instead on the relevance and pertinence of the concept and visual attraction of a work.
“We should be able to reframe ‘ageism’ in the arts as not a direct response to the age of an artist, but as a judgement of the relevance of concepts, technique and aesthetic of the artists’ work,” says the curator.
