Focusing on the sculptural nature of his practice, this exhibition of German-born and Adelaide-based designer, jeweller, silversmith and artist Frank Bauer features new large-scale works in metal and light that consider movement, longevity, repetition and change – both in an artist’s long career and, more broadly, in our everyday.
Over a career spanning forty-five years, Bauer’s mastered process begins with the hand – first drawing, then progressing to handling, touching, and making in his workshop – and results in works that bear human nature first and foremost in mind.
