Five artists from the Blue Mountains Region – Joan Ross, Kayo Yokoyama, Joanna Logue, Ona Janzen and Gabrielle Jones – exhibit unbridled imagination in their exploration of material, subject matter, scale, and execution in this mixed media exhibition.
Featured in this exhibition are Ross’ witty hand painted pigment prints offering a retelling of history; Yokoyama’s exquisite works exploring the medium of glass in a contemporary context; Janzen’s moody photographic portraits of youth’s urge for freedom; Logue’s distilled paintings releasing the essence of her landscape; and Jones’ gestural abstractions reinterpreting place, and the overwhelming experience of the Australian bush.
