Geri Barr: The Art of Listening

With her practice grounded in curiosity-driven research, Geri Barr travels around Australia seeking out magnificent eucalyptus endemic to the area. She deepens her understanding of the landscapes by listening to traditional owners, their stories and cultural practices. Experimenting with the natural dyes of the endemic eucalyptus, local water, and earth pigments encourages affinity with the landscape and provides a rich source of material to work with.

The diverse body of work on show utilises photography, textiles and works with paper which exhibits her listening experiences.
