Helen Fuller’s extensive, multidisciplinary practice encompasses painting, sculpture, installation and, in recent years, ceramics.
Materially driven, she approaches ceramics in a manner she likens to painting, centred on the characteristics of form rather than solely on its function. For this exhibition, the Adelaide-based artist unveils a new series of handmade terracotta objects; quirky, sculptural “pots” of mysterious function. Developed for the Adelaide Festival, this body of work explores connections to geological and social time and the object as a cultural and anthropological artefact.
