This is the first exhibition of Howard Arkley’s works in nearly a decade. The exhibition will reveal aspects of Arkley’s practice that have never been explored, including a close analysis of his archive, revealing his particular method of working; the music he listened to, demonstrating his connections between music and his art; and the close-knit bohemian group of friends, mostly artists with whom he shared his art and inspirations.
Co-curated by TarraWarra Museum of Art Director, Victoria Lynn and Curator, Anthony Fitzpatrick, the exhibition will display more than 60 works including some of Arkley’s most iconic and quintessential images alongside works that have never been seen publicly before.
