International gallery YellowKorner opens in Bondi Junction

YellowKorner is a worldwide phenomenon that began in France in 2006 with its galleries quickly spreading across the globe. Now in its seventh year, YellowKorner has touched down in Bondi Junction offering Australians fine photographic art prints.

Affordable prints is the concept that drives YellowKorner; they present limited edition, individually numbered, silver prints carefully selected and valued to bring out the collector in everyone.

The founders, Alexandre de Metz and Paul-Antoine Briat, have derived the YellowKorner concept from a simple idea: increasing the number of copies of an art photograph makes it accessible to more amateurs and collectors.

In early November 2013, YellowKorner made its Australian debut at Bondi Junction. The evening was a great success with an address from the founders and French artist Olivier Lavielle who was there to greet guests and discuss his work in an intimate setting.

Olivier Lavielle is a fan of the period between the ‘30s and the ‘70s. His world is full of jazz, swing, blues, rock ‘n’ roll and a hint of disco. Untouched by the aesthetics of the period, his subjects are best expressed exclusively in black and white. These dynamic compositions are inspired by ‘Hollywood’ style. As a private pilot, his aircraft photos express the intimate, special relationship that he has with his “toys”, as he likes to call them.
