Drawing together textiles, plant matter, sound, storytelling and community practice, York-based, Yindjibarndi artist Katie West presents her most ambitious project to date. We Hold You Close is a song for material intimacy that invites us to reconsider our relationship with the natural environment and each other by interacting and engaging in a sensory experience.
Central to the exhibition is a meeting space where visitors can make hand-twisted string from repurposed fabric over a cup of tea, added to the gallery walls in an ever-expanding supportive structure.
