Luke O’Donnell: Packed To The Rafters

Luke O’Donnell composed two videos and installed building blocks to create a shelter within the gallery space. The blocks don’t form a whole structure, inviting us to consider the meaning of materials and objects. His twist on traditional forms prompts contemplation of containment, protection, fallibility and what is steadfast. “How long can a wall be pushed or pulled before it will break? How high must something be dropped from before it no longer constitutes its original use?”, he asks.
