‘Strategies of Intent’ by Melbourne-based artist Nusra Latif Qureshi showcases key works alongside a series of new commissions reflecting on 20 years of the artist’s creative practice and ongoing interest in the symbolism and assumptions embedded in art history.
Qureshi explores the visual histories of South Asia while questioning past interpretations. Her attempt to undermine, shift and negate historical representation reads as a warning for the contemporary age, where assumed realities can be little more than constructed visions.
