‘Outstanding Women Artists’ highlights the diversity, versatility and sensitivity of nine women artists in their contemporary art practice.
Jacquie Blight reflects on the myriad effects of light while Di Crawford’s canvases explode with rich colour and vibrancy. Betina Fauvel-Ogden demonstrates her fascination with the human form while Louise Foletta creates rich and wonderful textures through watercolour. Jacqui Grantford focuses on portraiture and Annie On Lee presents her ‘Eyes on Nature Series’. Heather Shimmen draws elements from personal experiences, environmental and folkloric issues while Barbara Tyson focuses on dance and free expression. Environment, territory and human connections to land are re-occurring themes in the impressive paintings by Christine Wrest-Smith.
