Peter Atkins and Dana Harris present new work aligned in their shared use of geometry, repetition and order to reimagine the everyday world during a pandemic. Watching Dr. No, 1962, during lockdown, Atkins references the experience by deconstructing the film’s opening sequence into an abstract, stop-motion version of ninety-two paintings on four horizontal rows. Inspired by the subtle shifts and spatial relationships of the built environment, Harris’ intricately hand-embroidered panels use repetition and complex patterns to express the new rhythms and connections of a city at a standstill.
