Pip Lewi: An Ode to Transperth

An Ode to Transperth by Pip Lewi reimagines passenger culture on public transport. With playful humour that counters the mundanity of daily travel, Lewi’s work aims to brighten the outlook of weary travellers and everyday commuters. The artist considers the bus or train as a space that can be both public and intimate and embraces the train carriage as a place of rest and recharge. Lewi’s practice “considers reframing the flâneur in contemporary Australiana, exploring curious narratives and smirking at visual puns.”
