Pixy Liao: Some words are just between us

Pixy Liao is a Chinese artist based in the United States who is known for her intimate series of works that focus on the relationship between herself and her Japanese boyfriend. Liao is showing her work in Australia for the first time at Sydney’s Firstdraft gallery, with photography, video and installation.

Sophia Cai, curator, explains “the works in the exhibition present an introspective and personal perspective on themes of power and identity, and the boundaries between public and private, everyday relations and individual life.”
