This exhibition grapples with the recurring theme of reforms as the trademark of modern China. Presenting contemporary Chinese artists who are confronting an increasingly globalised world, the vast array of works are experimental and cutting edge in the limitless freedom of contemporary art.
‘REFORMATION’ presents an energetic exhibition of more than 50 works, which include mechanical art, sensor-linked videos and installations on an architectural scale. Influences on this exhibition and its artists are global in scale; from classical calligraphy and the European masters, Taoism and the Internet, to kung fu and genetics. It is a vibrant sample of leading Chinese contemporary art whose artistic language is a global one.
