Artists practicing painting, sculpture, design and fashion explore themes of the Rococo and the Colonial in this exhibition. During 18th century Europe, Rococo was the dominant art movement. As Europeans made their mark in Australia, the Rococo flowed over to the colonies of the new world. It reflected play and life as indistinguishable, and introduced the concept of a dream-like, but not entirely benign, reality. With a similar approach this group of contemporary artists question the political, cultural and economic realities of our times.
