‘South West Art Now’ brings together the best regional artists from Mandurah to Esperance. Not limited to an exhibition, the gallery supported chosen artists with studio visits and is producing a publication on their work. Bunbury Regional Art Gallery Director, Julian Bowron, said the need for an initiative like this was important as, while ‘networks of support do exist ‘in the bush’’ and ‘artists are often valued for their contribution to community’, being ‘physically remote is both a physical and psychological barrier.’
