‘Space YZ’ looks to the past to consider the present, celebrating the vibrant artistic practices of Western Sydney University alumni, while advocating for better access to art school education across Australia today. Curated by Daniel Mudie Cunningham, the exhibition speaks to the metaphors of transition and connection that unfold at art school; where ideologies are challenged and unique artistic identities are forged. Featuring early work created by 88 Visual Arts and Electronic Arts alumni (1986-2009) including Brook Andrew, Liam Benson, Raquel Ormella, Savanhdary Vongpoothorn and Justene Williams, among many others.
