stitched and bound

stitched and bound, a biennial touring exhibition presented by the West Australian Quilters Association, highlights the meticulous art of quilting across traditional and non-traditional techniques. Personal histories, Western Australia’s environment, and stories from the COVID-19 pandemic are some of the themes that unfold.

In the mix is Erin Ginty’s Safety Blanket, a reflection on the artist’s experience of living with chronic pain, Margery Goodall responds to the destruction of Western Australia’s landscape with Quairading Banksia, and Marilyn Clark-Murphy has created Rainforest Flowers.
