Featuring the work of three artists whose research-based practices focus on material experimentation where the physical engagement of “making” is an essential aspect of their work: carving, rubbing, erasing, mixing, pouring or casting. Their material language speaks to the idea of impermanence, bodily traces, memory, and loss, often referencing geological evolution, deep time, and the effects of transformation over time.
Includes drawings in the form of rubbings and multi-layered ink and graphite, paintings applying pigments and marble dust to unstretched linen, and textile, sculpture, sound, video, and installation.
