In the first series of works in this exhibition . . . eat a lot of peaches, artist Karee S Dahl offers up the simplicity of domestic objects – bowls, jars, and cooking utensils – as symbolic representations of motherhood and homemaking with a nod to Italian painter Georgio Morandi’s (1890–1964) still life works. In the second series, organic shapes and forms of native flora and fauna reminisce on Dahl’s time spent growing up in bushland around her childhood home in Crows Nest, Queensland.
