the hands should have no peace

In ‘the hands should have no peace’, Pony, Leila Baptist, Claudia Nicholson, Jade O’Sullivan, Andrew J Williams, and Chiluba Young use drawing, illustration and video to express an ‘embodied’ experience deeply connected with community and place. Hands can grip, grasp, gesture, give and take, inflict great harm, or heal. Hands are the restless, wiggling movers, changers and feelers; they can dangle fingers through a perpetually running creek. Presented in association with Perth Festival 2021, the exhibition examines the theme of bilya (river).
