The Ideal Home

Household objects, modernist furniture, design and artworks are on display across two venues to explore the past 100 years of ‘home’ in Australia. In addition to aesthetic historical clues that chart the rise of consumerism in a post WWII era, contemporary artists Catherine O’Donnell, Blake Griffiths, Richard Goodwin, Eliza Gosse, Cope Street Collective, Victoria Garcia, Karla Dickens and eX de Medici present recent and commissioned works. Dickens and de Medici consider that gendered violence, emotional and financial oppression can also mark domestic life.
