The ‘Sydney East Art Walk’ is new initiative that invites art lovers to experience one afternoon immersed in inspiration and originality. All located in the East Sydney, Darlinghurst and Kings Cross districts, 16 prominent galleries, project spaces and the National Art School will open their doors to showcase a variety of their finest talents and exhibitions. This is the third event of its kind this year.
There is something for everyone as each of the participating galleries present a diverse range of exhibitions. At King Street Gallery, Shona Wilson’s delicate organic sculptures ask viewers to think about their natural world. While down the road at Conny Dietzschold Gallery, Liang Quan replicates urban subway maps of big cities but with traditional Chinese materials.
A comprehensive ArtWalk map with details of all exhibits will be available from participating galleries. You are encouraged to take any route in any order to visit (or re-visit) exhibits and galleries. There will be free nibbles and drinks provided by the participating galleries.
So come along and enjoy this unique afternoon of art, food and drinks and friendly camaraderie – this Saturday, December 1, from 12-4pm.
Participating Galleries include:
Alaska Projects, Breenspace, Conny Diestzschold Gallery, The Cross Art Projects, The Drawing Room, Gallery 9, James Dorahy Project Space, King Street Gallery on Williams, Liverpool Street Gallery, National Art School Gallery, Robin Gibson Gallery, Soho Galleries, Watters Gallery, and William Wright/Artists’ Projects.
