Vicki White is a figurative painter whose practice considers the mysterious enigma of the emotional state of the human psyche. She explores how pictures convey feelings and embody memories, through our shared experience of joy, elation, longing, loss and melancholy.
A memorial to a journey with infertility, the intimate nature of this recent work explores the universal stories inherent to the human condition. The imagery is redolent with metaphor and meaning, inviting the viewer to inhabit the psychological space within the paintings, and to contemplate the references to the delicate shifts and balances found within the absurdist drama called ‘life’.
