William and Winifred Bowness Photography Prize

The William and Winifred Bowness Photography Prize is a celebration of contemporary photography in Australia and spans the breadth and depth of photographic practice. The Prize’s 2020 iteration showcases 60 finalists’ works; several reflecting the year’s most significant events such as the bushfires, COVID-19 and the Black Lives Matter movement.

‘There is an intensity to these works, and one can read a pre- and post-COVID-19 lens – the shortlisted artists illustrate its impact and the change that we all feel,’ says Anouska Phizacklea, MGA Gallery Director.
