William Kentridge: The Refusal of Time

‘The Refusal of Time’ epitomises William Kentridge’s intriguing, multi-disciplinary practice. Made in collaboration with Peter Galison, Philip Miller, and Catherine Meyburgh, this installation of five videos combine the magic of theatre, drawing and music with film and animation.

Working closely with physicist Peter Galison, Kentridge explores scientific and personal relations to the concept of time, focusing on eras of change from colonialism to industrialism, in which technological change initiated new notions of global connectivity.

The presentation of this Australian exclusive is a major collaboration between the artist, AGWA, PICA and Perth Festival.
