2012 Bankwest Contemporary Art Prize

Established in 2001, the Bankwest Contemporary Art Prize is now one of the largest and most important art prizes in Western Australia. Its importance lies in the fostering of creative and artistic endeavours in Western Australia, developing an understanding and appreciation of art by those in the organisation and in the community.

There is a pronounced Indigenous presence among this year’s finalists hailing from all corners of the State, including renowned centenarian Loongkoonan and regional artists Mabel Juli and Patrick Mung Mung.
