2012 Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize

Now in its twelfth year, the ‘Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize’ is Australia’s only national prize for free-standing sculptures under 80 centimetres. The 2012 prize includes an acquisitive award of $10,000, and was judged by Guido Belgiorno-Nettis AM, Natalie Wilson, and Professor Janice Reid AM.

Finalist Kendal Murray explores the representation of different psychological states and their connection to the creation of subjectivity: “I’m interested in the way psychological experiences are expressed by, on and through the body, and in turn, how those physical experiences are represented in the creation of the ‘social’ subject.”
