Inspired by their ancestral landscapes, Lorraine Kabbindi White and Genevieve Kemarr Loy continue the painting traditions of their elders. Taught to paint by her grandfather, Lofty Bardayal Nadjamerrek, White, illustrates her family’s country at Mankung Djang, western Arnhem Land with works on paper. Loy, from Utopia, Central Australia was instructed by her father, Cowboy Loy Pwerl, and is the granddaughter of Nancy Petyarr. In bold colour and detailed patterning Loy narrates custodial subjects associated with her country.
