Jamming with Strangers

Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre’s major summer exhibition, ‘Jamming with Strangers’, on from 4 December to 27 February 2022, looks at what it feels like to connect to community and culture through music and how it can create a sense of belonging.

The exhibition includes artworks and new commissions by Western Sydney artists, talks, musical performances, colourful costume and fashion, and WEST BALL 3 takes vogueing and ballroom culture to the dance floor.

Multimedia artist and performer My Le Thi and musician, producer, instrument technician and creator Azo Bell, present Gukoongboom (2021), a tuned percussion structure built from 21 PVC pipes that functions as both musical instrument and sculpture, complete with playing stations that invite audiences to participate in unique musical performance collaborations.
