A new religion. Deborah Kelly’s ‘CREATION’ is a multi-dimensional and cross-disciplinary cumulative and collaborative artwork proposing experimental, ritualised engagements with climate denialism.
In collaboration with metropolitan and regional communities and institutions, ‘CREATION’ entails moving and static imagery, a transcendent soundscape, intimate encounters for learning and exchange, culminating in collaboratively devised participatory performance events. In Lismore, eight people have been photographed in costumes inspired by the entities of the new religion; local luminaries spanning age groups, beliefs, race, sexualities and abilities, reflecting the diversity of the area.
