Curated by Patrice Sharkey & Eleanor Scicchitano, ‘Studios: 2021’ showcases new and recent work by five current studio artists: Sundari Carmody, Anna Gore, Jonathan Kim, Oakey, and Loren Orsillo, as part of ACE Open’s annual Studio Program.
Highlights include: Carmody’s sculptural forms, drawing on cosmic architecture and the natural rhythms of life; Gore’s first foray into large-scale paintings, Kim’s drawings that explore space and the way in which we understand it; Oakey’s mixed media sculptures reflect our relationship with nature; and Orsillo’s painting and assemblage works examine the inherent meaning in materials, and the tradition of the ready-made.
