Curated by Sarah Rose, ‘In the fibre of her being’ is a group exhibition that contemplates the role of women as anonymous carriers and preservers of heritage, intersecting diverse cultures, geographies, temporalities and languages through fibre art. Participating artists include Atong Atem, Crossing Threads®, Monika Cvitanovic Zaper, Paula do Prado, Julia Gutman, Nadia Hernández, Kate Just, Linda Sok, and Tjanpi Desert Weavers, whose textile-based practices explore legacies of womanhood and female subjectivity, displacement and diaspora, resilience and healing, self and community.
