During their practising years, 1981–1986, Perth-based art collective Media-Space were interested in conceptual and performance art, and emerging computer and telecommunications technologies. A key element of their work was the documentation and distribution of artworks and artistic research through offset lithography, lo-fi photocopied publications, and audio cassette tapes. This exhibition sheds light on how these artists dissected the social and political role of art to examine, amongst other issues, class and gender structures, suburban expansion, and the colonial power structures that shaped life in Western Australia.
