A group of 41 works by Tom Roberts, Arthur Streeton, Charles Conder and John Russell represent the first Australian Impressionist show in the United Kingdom and the inaugural Australian exhibition at The National Gallery, London. On view until 26 March it traces the accent of a then contemporary and aesthetic as we approached Federation and our cities grew. We see that the philosophical phenomenon of Impressionism was international and site responsive. Some pieces have been sourced from private collections, with 13 from the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
