Caroline Reid’s exhibition Florisma comprises large acrylic paintings and ceramics that celebrate nature’s seasonal energy. Painted en plein air in her Canberra garden in Spring 2023, Reid’s abstract paintings convey all the energy, joy and hopefulness of the flowers that emerged with each passing week.
Reid states, “Florisma is not an accurate replication of my garden; it is an artistic endeavour to capture the essence and vitality that permeates the air during this seasonal metamorphosis. The boundless joy that is triggered in my heart at the arrival of spring evolves into the tangible warmth and pleasure of summer, encapsulated in every brushstroke and hue.”
