Derek Kreckler: Accident and process

The South Australian School of Art (SASA) Gallery has a two-fold intention of being a stage for experimental art and developing curatorial practices.

‘Accident and process’ comprises photography, video and performance works by Derek Kreckler from the 1970s to today. Surveying both still and moving imagery, Kreckler’s signature post-minimal and post-conceptual approaches find their place in a lineage of artists that includes Joseph Kosuth, Vito Acconci and Sol Le Witt.

Curator Hannah Matthews has combined the artist’s early conceptual and performative works with today’s static forms bringing the historical avant-garde into the present.
