‘Drawn from the Garden’ explores how artists Fiona Hiscock, Sharon Peoples and Julie Ryder are drawn to the garden as a sustaining life force. Many works in this exhibition were created during the COVID-19 pandemic when gardens became a haven of solace. Sharon Peoples uses embroidery to reflect the environment and its fragility; Ryder makes visible the unseen beauty that lies within botanicals in her textile practice; and Hiscock captures the garden’s inhabitants: plant or bird, insect or flower on the surface of her delicate ceramics.
